Mirlux is a dedicated online retailer specialising in the sale of high-quality mirrors, with a product catalog spanning bathroom mirrors, makeup mirrors, and related home accessories. Operating in a competitive eCommerce environment, Mirlux recognised that user experience, website performance, and effective sales strategy were critical to sustaining growth on its primary platform, Mirlux.de. Despite a strong product range, the website faced several challenges — including underperforming UX, unresolved technical issues, and a lack of conversion-driving features — that were collectively limiting its commercial potential. Problem
Mirlux.de was underperforming across several dimensions that are critical to eCommerce success. The website lacked the intuitive navigation, engaging product pages, and conversion-focused features that today’s online shoppers expect — resulting in a user experience that failed to match the quality of the products on offer. A series of unresolved technical issues compounded the problem: missing products in the store, Shopify noindex and canonical URL misconfigurations, currency display errors affecting international users, session instability, and a broken Zendesk email integration that was disrupting customer support. Marketing infrastructure was either absent or incomplete, with no reliable setup for analytics, tag management, or paid advertising channels. The absence of social proof mechanisms, bundle discount logic, and clear shipping messaging further eroded buyer confidence at the point of purchase. Together, these issues presented a clear mandate: the platform needed both a functional rebuild and a strategic enhancement to compete effectively and convert at the level the business required.

UX Improvements and Client Feedback Implementation
Iterative improvements were made throughout the project based on direct client feedback gathered via Slack and WhatsApp. Enhancements included refinements to breadcrumb navigation and the product slider — two elements identified as friction points in the customer journey. This feedback-driven approach ensured that changes were grounded in real user experience observations and aligned closely with the client’s expectations at every stage of delivery.

New Collection Page and Product Organisation
A new collection page was developed and added to the live theme to improve product discoverability and catalog organisation. To prevent conflicts with existing theme logic, new collection code was simultaneously integrated into a separate theme environment before being deployed. This approach ensured stability and a clean implementation, allowing customers to browse and find products more intuitively across the Mirlux.de storefront.

Buy Button Enhancements and Bundle Discounts
A new buy button section was added to streamline the path to purchase, and a “Buy More, Save More” functionality was implemented to incentivise larger order values. Alongside this, discount logic for bundle sections was researched and built out, providing Mirlux with a flexible promotional mechanic to drive higher average order values. These features collectively reduced purchase friction and gave customers a compelling reason to add more to their cart.

Product Size, Type Modules and Review Integration
Modules for product size and type selection were added to product pages, improving the browsing and selection experience for customers comparing mirror specifications. The Judge.me review widget was also integrated and made live across product pages, providing structured social proof and ratings visibility that directly builds buyer confidence — a critical conversion factor in a category where quality perception drives purchase decisions.

Technical SEO and Shopify Issue Resolution
A thorough technical audit identified and resolved several Shopify-specific issues that were undermining search engine visibility and site functionality. Noindex meta tags and canonical URLs were correctly implemented to prevent duplicate content penalties and ensure proper indexing. Session instability issues were investigated and resolved. Currency display errors affecting international visitors were identified and corrected, ensuring accurate pricing presentation across all markets of Mirlux serves

Marketing Infrastructure Setup
A complete marketing tracking and advertising infrastructure was configured from the ground up. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Center, and Meta Ads access were all set up and validated, giving Mirlux a reliable foundation for measuring performance, running paid campaigns, and feeding accurate product data into shopping channels. Server-side tracking was also implemented to ensure data accuracy beyond the limitations of browser-based tracking.

Support System and Shipping Messaging Fixes
The Zendesk email integration issue that had been disrupting customer support communication was investigated and resolved, restoring reliable two-way customer service capability. Free shipping messaging was also corrected to display accurately across relevant pages — a small but commercially significant change, as clear shipping communication is consistently one of the highest-impact factors in reducing cart abandonment at checkout.

Outcomes
The engagement delivered clear improvements across the Mirlux.de platform. UX enhancements, technical issue resolution, and conversion-focused features resulted in a more effective shopping experience, reflected in post-launch performance. Sales performance improved, indicating a positive impact on revenue, while website traffic increased, suggesting better search visibility and customer engagement. The resolution of long-standing technical issues — including Shopify misconfigurations, currency errors, session instability, and broken integrations — reduced friction that had affected performance. The newly established marketing infrastructure provided a scalable foundation for analytics, paid advertising, and product feed management. With social proof enabled via Judge.me and bundle discounts in place, the platform now supports more consistent conversion. Mirlux.de is now technically stable, commercially optimised, and positioned for continued growth in a competitive online retail market.
