Enhancing User Experience and Dynamic Pricing for Chicoryhome Store

Chicoryhome Store, a popular e-commerce store offering stylish and functional home furnishing products, was looking to improve its online presence and usability of the website. They had two primary requirements for the project: streaming pictures changing on the product details page without reloading the page and the application of tiered discount prices throughout the site.

Problem
Chicoryhome faced significant eCommerce challenges, including a disruptive page refresh issue caused by the ‘Platmart Swatches’ app, which negatively impacted user experience and potentially led to customer loss. Additionally, Shopify’s lack of native functionality to display tiered discount prices across multiple pages limited the store’s promotional capabilities. These issues hindered Chicoryhome’s ability to provide a seamless shopping experience and effectively promote discounts.

Platmart Swatches App Integration
With ‘Platmart Swatches’, the store was able to incorporate a simple way through which users could choose specific product options. There is one functionality that we have added here, and it states that when one clicks on the swatches, then it leads to the page of that particular product.

Custom JavaScript Implementation
To smoothen the user experience, we implemented custom JavaScript that updates the page content, including SEO data and meta fields, without refreshing the entire page.

Smooth Browser History Management
We updated the browser history dynamically to manage the browser history. This ensured a smooth navigation experience for the users.

Script Reload and Event Reinitialization
All required scripts were reloaded to reset sliders and other widgets that involved the client side of the application. This made us able to make sure that the user experience was not varying but was consistent from one platform to the other.

FBQ Events Integration
We further personalized the Facebook Pixel (FBQ) events for tracking category, pricing, and product engagement and extended the functionality for adding new products to the cart.

Schema-Based Solution
Due to the constraints of Shopify, the integration of tiered discount pricing was fairly difficult to facilitate directly. So, we devised a schema to pass a JSON Object of discounts.
Challenges
The project faced several challenges, including the need for careful JavaScript handling to enable dynamic content updates without reloading the page. Managing script interactivity proved complex, especially with reloading and reinitializing JavaScripts. Integrating custom FBQ events required precise tracking to monitor user interactions accurately. Additionally, implementing tiered pricing calculations involved formalizing rules to pre-calculate prices based on user status and ensuring accurate display across the site, necessitating robust JavaScript data management.
Outcomes
The enhancements for the Chicoryhome store led to significant improvements in user experience and site functionality. Seamless content loading on product pages minimized user distractions, while improved SEO and meta data management allowed updates without page refreshes, enhancing discovery. Effective tiered pricing displays made promotions clearer, likely boosting sales and customer satisfaction. Additionally, robust analytics and tracking through custom FBQ events provided valuable insights, aiding in timely product launches and improved conversion rates.
